Head of Sales
Strategic Intent of the role:
The Head of Sales leads the organization in driving plasterboard and compounds business and execution of business plans. This entails a deep understanding of our customers and how we as an organization can add value to their businesses making us their preferred supplier. It also means driving and developing the sales engine that will spur profitable growth that will help increase plasterboard penetration in the country.
Role of the Head of Sales:
1. Craft, articulate and execute Knauf Sales strategy, the Head of Sales is in charge of developing weekly/monthly/annual and seasonal sales targets for the department, examining growth opportunities, enabling sales improvements, product mix development, and taking responsibility for the department’s performance against targets
2. Must be able to engage, guide and coach the sales leadership team, develop the sales team’s capabilities and sales processes to ensure superior customer experience
3. Track the departments performance against targets and create plans to address performance gaps or opportunities in both the market or the team.
4. Able to plan and organize effectively to manage sales forecasting and sales cycle planning
5. Ability to influence internal colleagues to provide superior customer experience – delivery, technical support and after sales service
6. Collaborate with marketing team in developing customer focused programs that will drive volume, revenue, profitability and customer loyalty.
7. Collaborate with stakeholders to continuously improve our days working capital through collections partner with AR Team.
8. Must have clear understanding of market trends and customer purchasing behaviours and align our sales operations to address these changes.
9. Work with marketing team to identify growth and opportunity segment to drive both revenue and profitability growth.
10. Must build and maintain relationship with key customers, stakeholders and potential affiliate companies to improve our brand position.
11. Drive the implementation of new Channel to Market
12. Well-rounded, self-motivated individual with a strong desire to achieve sales success and pro-actively manages the team to drive growth of the business
Job Requirements
• Degree or Diploma in Management, Business Administration or equivalent
• Self-motivated, strategic and results oriented.
• Strong commercial and business acumen.
• Operates with integrity and authenticity.
• Strong verbal and written communication & project management skills
• Excellent negotiation skills
• Coaching skills
• Ability to manage and design processes.
