Summary
The Health Safety Environmental (HSE) Manager manages the overall management, coordination, development and implementation of all HSE activities, trainings and programs to ensure a safe workplace for all workers as required by law and ensure that the company is compliant and adheres to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) guidelines, and DENR
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and implementation of various HSE programs, procedures and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Ensure that the business operates in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all workers (employees, contractors, and visitors)
- Exercise a leadership, coordination, and communication role with the plant leadership to drive continuous HSE improvement across the location.
- Leading and embedding a greater HSE focus and culture in all elements of our operations.
- Provides guidance and training in all matters related to HSE.
- Regularly conducts site inspections to ensure compliance to proper Safety and Environmental practices).
- Guide, monitors, checks safety compliance of third-party contractors.
- To monitor/supervise the sanitation activity and program of the company including the scrap and waste management which includes the shredding and slicing operation up to the hauling.
- To investigate all accidents and near-miss incidents and to record the findings on the relevant forms.
- Maintains or help in the maintenance of an efficient accident record system and coordinate action taken by supervisor and heads to eliminate the cause of the accident.
- Reports any unsafe condition and practices and recommends or suggests correction or removal of accidents hazards.
- Act as company representative on matter related to HSE with the local officials and community.
Requirements
- Preferably Bachelor's and University Degree in Engineering, Health, Science, Industrial, Management, Environmental Science, or Manufacturing
- Minimum of 10 years Manufacturing Safety Management Experience
- Preferably from a manufacturing company
- Knowledge of manufacturing industry health & safety standards
- Must be knowledgeable with DOLE Occupational Health and Safety Standards
- Must have Basic Occupational Safety and Health Training (BOSH) certification and Pollution Control Officer certification
