Tax and Compliance Officer
Tax & Compliance Officer is responsible for:
- Ensuring our business operations and procedures comply with statutory regulations and policies (internal and external)
- The efficient liaising/legal administration of the company
Knowledge Management
- Internal Audit
- Assist in the preparation of the requested schedules of the internal auditors and coordinates with the team for their completion
- Tax & Regulatory
- Implement internal controls policies that promote tax compliance
- Comprehensive review and analysis of financial statements and tax returns
- Handles tax cases with regulators until its conclusion and resolution
- Provide advice regarding most tax effective course of action
- Compliance with other regulatory bodies: SEC, BSP, BOI
- Legal/Business Administration
- Manage and implement board resolutions and secretary’s certificates required
- Liaising with auditors, lawyers, tax advisers, financial institutions as required.
- Helps in the contract review and file management
Reporting
- Regular Updates regarding Close out of Outstanding Items in Internal Audit Report
- Regular Tax Compliance & Tax Risk Update
- Regular Updates regarding Close out of Pending Tax Cases/ Audits
- Regulatory Reports to BIR, SEC, BSP and BOI
Coordination with Stakeholders
- Subordinate team members: manages day-to-day performance and resolve issues.
- Finance team peers: information support and peer review
- Finance Head: For required approval and any assistance/ support needed
- Internal Auditors: provide requested information accurately and timely.
- APAC Region & Knauf Group Tax Departments: various adhoc requests and policy/ process updates
- APAC Region & Knauf Group Treasury Departments: various adhoc requests and policy/ process updates
Planning and Organizing
- Help business monitor and track the company wide-goals
- Ensure project milestones and goals are met
Communications
- Flag with Compliance Manager critical items to be addressed
- Communicate and train wider business with the updates of internal policies and procedures.
Job Requirements:
- Candidate must be graduate of Bachelor's degree in Accountancy
- Preferably a Certified Public Accountant graduate is essential in this role
- Knowledge in Philippines Tax and Compliance laws is a must
- At least 3 years work experience in compliance, governance and audit
- Analytical, detail-oriented and agile to the changing demands of the job
- Exposure to tax audits and cases in manufacturing industry is an advantage
- Knowledge in SAP is a plus
